Pyar Ka Dard Hai-Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara is now 400 episodes old. And the Hindi soap opera has covered so many aspects of normal life and living that we have to wonder what the makers have left to add to the story line. But they have come up with something new that kinda bridges the gap between small town drama and big city shenanigans in a way that we are curious to see more of. In a soon-to-be telecast episode, Pankhuri (Disha Parmar) – the adarsh bahu of the Diwan family – will be arrested. Yes, you read right. Rajshri Productions has come up with a tumultuous segment where Pankhuri puts herself waaaaay out to keep the izzat of the family safe. And she suffers the consequences of her actions.
You will remember that Pankhuri’s cousin Payal (Monica Khanna) has been pushed by family and fate to marry Rubel Diwan. But the girl is still in love with her former boyfriend Rohit (Khushwant Walia), who is being manipulated by Latika, who was once married by contract to Rubel, yaad hai? Payal makes a date to meet Rohit at a club, to where Pankhuri follows her. Like is often the case in real life, the club does not have the needed license, but is serving alcohol; and it is raided by the police. In the ensuing melee, Pankhuri is arrested, even as she saves Payal from being caught by the cops. And her husband Aditya Diwan, Rubel’s cousin, rushes to his wife’s rescue.
